James Sasser

Leveraging his deep experience providing business transformation consulting services across the Federal government and building upon his passion for bringing quality, cost-effective solutions to clients, James founded GovStrive. He brings over eighteen years of top-tier professional services experience, as a seasoned management consultant with expertise in Federal Government Operations, Shared Services Transformation, Program Management and Human Capital. James’ background spans specific knowledge in business transformation and process improvement, shared services centralization and optimization, operational performance and talent management. 

James has successfully managed and led teams through large-scale design and implementation projects, supported clients to stabilize, operate, and optimize their business, and built methodologies and tools to support evolving needs of the government marketplace. As an innovative and progressive leader, James has the ability to successfully work with all levels of an organization and develop high performing, collaborative teams. 

James holds a B.S. in Business from the University of South Florida and an MBA from Auburn University.



Clyde Thompson

Clyde Thompson

Clyde is the Senior Vice President and Executive Advisor with GovStrive. A proven Federal Executive, Clyde concluded his 36 years of dedicated government service in the position of Deputy Administrator for Operations and Management for Rural Development with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). As a strategic executive with vision, insight, drive, and proven success, Clyde established himself as a public servant known for his integrity, excellence and results-driven outcomes. Clyde held numerous executive management and administrative positions across the USDA including Associate Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Associate Assistant Secretary for Administration, and Deputy Chief for Business Operations (Forest Service). In these capacities, Clyde was responsible for management of the human resources, civil rights, information technology, property and contracting programs. He currently leverages his deep expertise and knowledge to provide executive advisory support to government executives, managers, and management teams.

Clyde’s outstanding accomplishments were acknowledged across government as he was the recipient of two Presidential Meritorious Rank Awards. He received his first award for providing sustained exceptional leadership in directing and managing all administrative management functions of the Forest Service. He received the second rank award for leadership in the exceptional accomplishments of the USDA, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights. 

Clyde holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Jackson State University and a MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
